Based on the true account of the tragic loss of 19 Hotshot firefighters in Prescott AZ, director Joseph Kosinski (Tron Legacy, Oblivion) wanted a memorial sequence to end this beautiful and intensely dramatic story of these brave young men. And as an accomplished designer himself, he wanted us to create something that was beautiful and memorable.
The film has such an excellent tapestry of life stories and rich character development, so it only seemed appropriate to construct a sequence that carried the warmth of a hand-made scrapbook and the texture of the rugged outdoors. Our hope in creating this sequence was to make it something that would serve as a gift to the families and leave a lasting impression of their legacy as local heroes.
Special thanks to designers, Nader Husseini, Ana Czeta, Joshua Cam Smith and Ben Hurand for helping us pull this off.
